Quilting a Monster

The last two and a half weeks I have been quilting a monster. I don't mean monster  as in a huge quilt, I mean a very naughty quilt. I haven't has this much trouble with a piece in a long time, you name it and it happened on this quilt, ran out of fabric, colours ran, tension problems and more. But I kept thinking to myself "nothing worth while is easy" and "everything happens for a reason" I think I had to keep telling myself silly things like that in order to stop myself from throwing it in the bin in a fit of rage.
I started drawing it up in Jan on 2011 I used Elly Sienkiewicz books as inspiration and changes and added flowers and designs as I went along, I also enlarged the designs so they would fit a 20" block. Then I drew cut and stitched over the next 12 months. Then I looked at it and thought it looked so boring with just 12 blocks next to each other. I must love making things hard for myself! I added a center medallion block and made it even bigger. I was going to do a floral vine on the borders  but by the time I got to them I was sick of cutting out flowers, I used a swag border instead.
Now that it's finished I am really happy with it and like child birth all of the pain is now a distant memory.

Here are some sneak peak photo's of the quilt on the frame. I'll have some photo's of the finished quilt next week.
